Welcome to EK Cell Repair!

Today we are posting about the iPhone 5S screen replacement.

So looking at the phone, it has sustained a lot of damage near the home button. Fortunately the home button is still functional.

Therefore, it is a quick fix by just replacing the screen.

Let’s start the repair!
Picture
Firstly, we need to open up the phone and remove the screen from the motherboard.

On the photo above, the left is the old screen and the right is the new replacement screen.

We disassembled and put the home button flex cable, front camera, and sensor flex cable on the new screen.

On the iPhone 5S, the screws are small and also different sizes. It is important to be careful during the repair.

Here are the comparisons! The iPhone 5S is good as new!

This process usually takes 10-15min, but because of high volumes of repair we ask for 30min.

Thank you so much for tuning in! Have a a great day.

iPhone 6 - Weak Wifi Connection

Welcome to EK Cell Repair!
Today we are posting about the repair of the iPhone 6 weak Wifi signal.
Picture
A customer came into our store in regards to a weak Wifi connection signal on their iPhone 6.

Generally when in the Wifi settings at around 10 networks should be available.

With this iPhone 6 only 4 were available.

In these instances, it requires a new Wifi flex cable.
Sometimes there can be an issue to the mainboard which causes the button to grey out or not allow the user to turn Wifi on.

Fortunately in this case, it was just because of the need for a new Wifi flex cable.

So let us fix the phone!

The WiFi cable is located right underneath the mainboard. So as you can see in the photo above, it requires a full disassembly of the phone.

(The small part in the photo above is the Wifi cable.)

After we replaced the cable, we went back into the settings to test the Wifi strength.
As you can see there are approximately 10 networks available.

With this iPhone it could connect to Wifi but had really weak connection strength.

In instances in which there is a grey out of the Wifi button, it requires the repair of the mainboard which is through soldering the mainboard.

We will post about this in a future post!

Have a great day!!
